Attach Emails to Records

A copy of an email and its attachments can be sent to the Innovate record by cc’ing or bcc’ing the Innovate email address specific to the office. Reference the record number in the subject line of the email that you want to be seen in the Innovate record.

Agreements

  • Create an email to the recipient from your email system that includes attachments if necessary
  • Include the agreement reference number in the subject of the email (format like: “Agreement Number AXXXX”)
  • CC or BCC the Innovate email address for your office
  • Click send
  • Within approximately 1 minute of sending the email, a copy of the email will be visible in the Notes section of the agreement along with any of the attachments that were sent.

Technologies & Patents

  • Create an email to the recipient from your email system that includes attachments if necessary
  • Include the technology or patent reference number in the subject of the email (format like: “Technology Number TXXXX” or “Patent Number PXXXX”)
  • CC or BCC the Innovate email address for your office
  • Click send
  • Within approximately 1 minute of sending the email, a copy of the email will be visible in the Notes section of the technology or patent record along with any of the attachments that were sent.

Invoices

  • Finalize the invoice
  • Click view just below the header
  • Print to PDF and save to your computer
  • Create an email to the recipient from your email system that includes the PDF copy of the invoice along with any other back-up for the Innovate invoice
  • Include the invoice reference number in the subject of the email (format like: “Invoice Number XXXXXXXXX”)
  • CC or BCC the Innovate email address for your office
  • Click send
  • Within approximately 1 minute of sending the email, a copy of the email will be visible in the Notes section of the invoice along with any of the attachments that were sent
